Road Safety Action Plan: DfT roads policing review

Today (16 July 2019) The Department for Transport (DFT) has announced a review of roads policing as part of its Road Safety Action Plan.
The full plan will be announced on Friday 19 July.
About the review
This will be a review of policing and traffic enforcement and will be launched later this year.
The review will involve looking at:
• how roads policing currently works and its effectiveness
• where improvements could be made or gaps bridged
• how the police and different agencies work together and share information
It will involve a pilot scheme, which could be running from 2020.
The aim of this review is to improve road safety and reduce road casualties.
